Struggling to lose weight or lead a healthy lifestyle? So often we really want to achieve something and yet regardless of how hard we try, we don’t succeed. The question is – What are some of the things you have to do to succeed? To find out read this month’s article
The A, B, C of Success
Think about your goal, write it down.
“I have always wanted to _____” Now BEGIN…
Without action – nothing can be achieved!
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step” –Tao
If you believe you can achieve then you will achieve. That doesn’t mean you will never fail – you will, but learn from your mistakes, pick yourself up and keep on going.
“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist see the opportunity in every difficulty”
– Sir Winston Churchill
Be the best you can be
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else! Focus on yourself and be the best you can be.
“I started from scratch. I had no endurance, I had no muscle, I had lost everything, but I started in a lane by myself and just worked on improving my time.”
-Natalie du Toit
Once you have decided what you want to do, commit to do what is achievable and realistic and stick to it until you achieve your goal. Commit not to quit.
“One sacrifice today will bring two rewards tomorrow”
Doing what you fear is what gives you confidence.
“Confidence is a state of mind”
Facing your fears and discovering what you are capable of is what gives you courage and confidence.
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the small, quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
“I will try again tomorrow.”
Reaching your goals won’t happen without effort and may not be easy so challenge yourself to go beyond what you think you are capable of, to go beyond whatever limit you have put on yourself.
“See obstacles as the chance to learn to fly, not as roadblocks”
Nothing can be achieved without discipline. You need discipline to keep focused on the goal, discipline to keep going even when you want to quit, discipline to go beyond what you think you are capable of, discipline to show up every day and do what you have committed to do.
“Self-discipline gets you the last mile.”
There can be no excuses if you want to succeed!
“Recognize self-defeating excuses and refuse to listen to them.”
When the going gets tough, keep on going. Sometimes you will have to push yourself beyond your comfort zone but you have to continue until you finish what you start.
“Success comes one step at a time more often than it comes in one giant leap.”
Fear – of failure
Take one step at a time, put one foot in front of the other, and focus on the daily actions you have to take in order to reach your goal.
“It’s okay to fail – but what is not okay is giving up” – Erica Levy Klein
You have to know what to do to achieve your goals and that is what requires focus each and every day.
“Whatever you focus on consistently happens”-Tony Robbins
You have to know what you want and where you want to get to.
“If you don’t know where you want to go, no amount of planning will get you there.”
Now go back to the beginning and
BEGIN! Good luck.
